Dormitory Life

1.1. J.U. Hall

1.1.1.        Dormitory

The dormitory is located inside J.U. Hall adjacent to the main building. It is a six-story building. This newly built dormitory has various facilities you can use during your stay. Dorm rooms are furnished with closets, beds, and desks. Most of the dorm rooms are designed for multiple occupants. There is a kitchen on the third floor where students may store snacks. In addition, there is a lounge area with telephone and TV, where you can rest and spend time with your dorm mates. A small laundry room is available with a washing machine and a dryer.. The cafeteria is located on the second floor.

1.1.2.        Dormitory Supervising Office

Dormitory Supervising Office takes care of housing services. It is located on the third floor of the dormitory.  If you have questions, contact the following number: (031)960-1071

1.1.3.        General Dormitory Living Principles

A student-run Dormitory Committee publishes and enforces Dormitory Rules and Regulations. It is important to keep in mind that the rules and regulations are general guides for broader principles. You will become accustomed to the principles the longer you live at TLBU. Generally, the conceptual ideals of regularity, respect for others, discipline, and respectability are the basis of nearly all the self-governing regulations.

a)      Smoking is forbidden in the dormitory.

b)     Consumption of alcoholic beverages, violence and gambling are strictly forbidden in the dormitory.

c)      Music, loud conversation, and other excessive noise, especially after 10:00 p.m. is disruptive and violates other students right to enjoy peace and quiet in the dormitory.

d)     As we all should try to respect one another, students should be dressed appropriately in all public areas - i.e., don’t wander around the dormitory wearing your pajamas or underwear.

e)      Graffiti, stickers and posters may not be posted on the walls of buildings on the campus.

f)      Electric appliances, including television sets, large stereo equipment, hot pots, toaster ovens, electric burners, and irons are forbidden in the dormitory.  Flammable and/or explosive materials are also forbidden. Hair dryers, electric shavers and small cassette players are allowed.

g)      Valuables should be kept in a safe place. The dormitory authorities will bear no responsibility for any loss.

h)     Since most students will share dorm rooms, please do not allow visitors to enter the dorm rooms.  Visitors may be entertained only in public areas, such as the cafeteria.
