TLBU Misson & Goals

  • Development of a Regional Community for Permanent Peace & Prosperity in East Asia

To achieve permanent peace and prosperity in East Asia and to contribute to the cooperation and development of international societies, the development of a regional community is an essential element. Unlike European countries, Asia has little experience with public interchange and cooperation between neighboring countries. Such lack of regional cooperation is hindering the East Asian countries from taking part in the global development process.

The joint training of young elite students from East Asia would therefore be the most efficient and fundamental step in promoting the development of a regional community. Future international experts will not only contribute to the development of their own countries but will also contribute to the development of a regional community in East Asia through mutual understanding and by maintaining close relation. TLBU Graduate School of Law in Seoul will therefore be of great importance in the joint training of future international experts.

  • Strengthening Asian-American Cooperation

Strong and close ties between Asia and the United States undoubtedly will foster permanent peace and prosperity for the world. Historically, the Asian countries have been rather passive in establishing regional collaboration even with their neighboring countries, thus there is little ground for developing US-Asia cooperation. Educating Asian elite students on U.S. law, as well as offering them with opportunities to promote active cultural, academic and societal interchange with American elite students, would be a significant first step torwards strengthening ties with the United States. It will certainly contribute to the establishment of solid and close cooperation between the two regions.

Selected students among the graduates will have additinal opportunity to enhace their legal knowledge on US law by studying in prestigious law schools in America and acquire practical knwledge through their work in law firms in cooperation with TLBU foundations in New York and New Jersey and TLBU foundation in Washington DC. so as to promote mutual cooperation and understanding between the US and Asia.

  • Asian-European Cooperation and Global Cooperation

The TLBU System gives potential leaders a chance to study European Community Law and International Organizations in Europe. The TLBU Institute in Paris offers very efficient field studies for students in International Organizations and European Community Law. The field studies in Paris for international organizations will further promote to the students understanding of global cooperation. The comparative studies of European Community Law in cooperation with European Universities will substantially develop Asian-European Cooperation. Such overseas studies will certainly contribute to the building of global cooperation.

  • Formation of the Highly Qualified Transnational Legal Experts

TLBU provides effective and ideal training to its students by most highly qualified transnational legal experts, and will provide them with opportunities to study and practice various countries' legal systems, and to carry on productive field studies in international organization and European Community Law through TLBU and its affiliate facilities that are located in Asia, Europe and America.
